Back from the dead

I am back! After such a long hiatus, I promise to update this in a couple of days, things have just been busy! Starting work and stuff and dealing with some personal matters. But I am back and I promise to try to update this as often as I can, I have a few reviews coming up, but I still have to try the products that I bought.

Please be patient and I will be updating this soon.

See you later loves!

The photos are here! If you remember from my last post, I mentioned that my friend and I are working on something. Once everything gets done, I can probably mention it.

We chanced upon this location in our friend’s neighborhood and it was  a great place, especially when the sun started to set, I can’t stop staring at the photos!

With everything that’s been going on, I still believe that everything is going to be alright. It can be tough at times, but as long as you have great friends, everything gets a little easier.

This was definitely a fun shoot and I can’t wait for the others as well, I’m sure it’ll be as fun as this one was. Sadly, Opaa is going away for a few months, he’ll be sorely missed by this little girl.

I am back with another post! These are behind the scene photos from a shoot that my friends and I did for something. I won’t tell you what it’s about, not yet anyway.

The things I do for a good shot haha, I even lied down on the grass, the whole time I was up there, I was thinking that it wasn’t a good idea to stand on the stool.

Review: Revlon Colorburst Lipstick

Happy New Year guys! I hope you guys are having an awesome 2013. Mine has been very eventful, and it’s only the second week of January! But despite everything that’s been going on, I am happy and I’m trying to stay positive. I won’t deny that it’s difficult, but I believe that something good will come out of this. I won’t let the enormity of the situation get me down. :)

Anyway, a couple of weeks ago I went out, with the intention to only buy a new foundation, I somehow ended up buying that and a few other things.

I got these two because they were on sale, almost 50% off!

Image

ImageI love my red lipsticks, so I definitely had to grab one and I’ve been meaning to get another nude lipstick, and I fell in love with this one.

True Red, is more of a blue based red, but that’s actually a good thing, because the blue tones make your teeth look more white :D

Soft Nude is a really pretty pinky nude color :)

First things first, I definitely like the packaging. It’s sleek and looks expensive as well and I love how the color is showed on top, so when I rummage through my lipsticks, I can immediately spot it!

It’s creamy and moisturizing and it doesn’t have a strong scent which is a bonus. However, as lovely as this lipstick is, it’s not very long lasting! It starts fading after 2-3 hours, but I suppose its because of how creamy this lipstick is, and one thing I noticed is that when it fades, it doesn’t really leave a ring of color around your lips ;)

Image

I wear the True Red on its own and for Soft Nude, I layer it over Etude House’s Dear Darling Tint and Etude House’s Fresh Cherry Tint for a soft pink color.

Despite that, I absolutely love this lipstick!

Edit: I just realized that this wasn’t the original post and it was missing the overall part.

Overall:

  • Great packaging
  • Moisturizing
  • Doesn’t have a strong scent
  • Not long lasting, starts fading after 2-3 hours
  • A bit pricey, I got this at Php350/$8-9 each and that was almost 50% off, regular price is around Php600-700/$15-17
  • Several colors to choose from
  • I think this has been discontinued in other countries?

I’d definitely repurchase, and out of the fear that this will be discontinued in our country as well, I will hoard as many colors as I can :)

Ciao loves!

Review: Etude House Dear My Blooming Lips Talk & Etude House Color My Brows

Merry Christmas everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas :) These reviews are long overdue so this will be as short as I can make it :p

ImageToday I will be reviewing two products from Etude House, the first one is the Dear My Blooming Lips Talk in shade BE101. It says on the box:

Smooth textured lipstick supplies vivid color and moist shine.

First things first, I like that it has an English translation on the box because I always like to read product descriptions. But for the most part, majority of their products still don’t have any English translation.

ImageImageIsn’t the embossed heart adorable?

I like the packaging, it’s simple but still looks really pretty (I’m a sucker for bows and ribbons) and the cover doesn’t come off easily, and I like that because I hate it when I lose the cover in my makeup bag.

Image

I specifically chose this shade because I don’t have a nude lipstick, It’s a warm beige color with pink undertones to it. I really, really like the color and I think it’s perfect for everyday use :) It’s a creamy lipstick that’s easy to apply and it’s not drying on the lips when you wear it :)

Overall:

  • Good product
  • Retails for about Php500/$11-13
  • Lasts for about 2-3 hours
  • Perfect for everyday use.
  • Doesn’t dry out your lips
  • Adorable packaging

Onto the next one! This is the Etude House’s Color My Brows in Light Brown. I got this because I got my hair colored and I needed something for my brows so that they could match.

Image

It’s a small tube with a spoolie and I truly adore this product. I’ve read several reviews that say that this is a dupe for MAC’s Girl Boy Brow Set. And although I’ve never tried that, I think I can safely say that is is indeed a dupe. Why do I say that? I was sitting next to a girl the other day and she suddenly faces me and compliments me on my eyebrows and asked me if it was MAC’s Girl Boy.

ImageIt has bits of glitter in it if you look closely but nothing too obvious.

Just to share a random tip, if you find that it has dried out, you can soak the tube in warm/hot water for a few minutes, just make sure that it is tightly closed, it works well for mascaras too :) Also, if you’re done with a tube of mascara or brow set, wash and keep the spoolie! You can re-use it as a brow brush, eyelash comb or just as your mascara brush if you don’t like the brush that came with your new mascara :)

Overall:

  • Amazing product
  • Cheap! less than Php350/$8-9
  • Great dupe for MAC’s Girl Boy

Until next time loves! <3

Review: Etude House Fresh Cherry Tint

Hi guys! I am back after such a long time, I’m a bad blogger, I know I have several items to review and I’ve no excuse, except for the fact that I am a lazy cat and an occasional busy bee. :D

Anyway, it’s almost Christmas! I’m a little excited about all the cooking that has to be done and I’m just excited about Christmas! I haven’t been this enthusiastic about Christmas for the longest time, for the past few years I’ve spent Christmas eve sleeping, for some reason, I didn’t feel like celebrating Christmas, but it’s time to be a bit more enthusiastic about it! :D

Onto the review:

Image

I know there are two products in the photo but I’ll only be reviewing Etude House’s Fresh Cherry Tint since that is one product that I have tried multiple times already :)

ImageI got the shade PK002 by the way. It has a doe foot applicator and you’ll actually be surprised to see that the product isn’t as bright as it looks in the bottle.

ImageIt looks more baby pink rather than hot pink but it’s fine with me. It gives my lips just the right amount of color, I find that it looks really natural with one application, and with two applications it tends to become more pigmented.

Image

I remember wearing this for the first time and my boyfriend commenting that my lips had more color in them and asked if I was wearing lipstick or anything. Thumbs up for looking natural :D oh and before I forget, I love the fact that it smells sooooo good! It smells sweet and candy-like and I just want to keep on smelling it because it really is that good :D

For staying power, hm, I find that this lasts me about half a day, mainly because I tend to lick my lips often and eat a lot, so half a day isn’t really bad for me :D

Image

P.S.

You can use this for your cheeks as well, I just prefer using it as a lip tint ;)

Overall:

  • Smells nice
  • Cute packaging
  • Looks natural on lips
  • Affordable, Php348 or about $8
  • Long lasting
  • Multipurpose product

I’d love to get my hands on the other shades as well and I really love using this for an everyday lip color :)

Don’t Say – St. Lola In The Fields

Don’t take, don’t take
Don’t take it so lightly
When you say, you say
You say you love me

Don’t you, don’t you
Don’t you think it’d be worth it for love?
If I thought you’d do me no harm
I’d fall, I’d fall into your arms

I think this song is absolutely lovely *sigh* I’ve no words for how it makes me feel, it’s sweet and sad at the same time. And the way she sings it, soft and delicate *sigh* I really have no words for the loveliness of this song <3
